Early gender test
$200
Determines the baby's sex from a maternal blood sample, as early as 6 weeks.

What this test determines
Whether a Y chromosome is present in the mother's blood. If it is, the baby is a boy. If it is not, the baby is a girl. Accuracy is greater than 99%.
Available from 6 weeks of pregnancy — roughly fourteen weeks earlier than a typical anatomy ultrasound.
Who this is for
Expectant parents who would rather not wait until 20 weeks to know. Some want time to plan. Some are managing a family history that makes the answer medically relevant. Some simply want to know.
How it works
- 01
Schedule
Call (206) 883-1850 or book online.
- 02
Collect
A standard blood draw at our office. We handle the draw; there is no home kit to manage and no risk of contaminating the sample.
- 03
Process
The sample is analyzed by the laboratory.
- 04
Results
Delivered by email as soon as the next business day, and generally within two.
Results can be sent to a third party rather than to you — useful if someone else is keeping the answer for a reveal.
About the laboratory
This test uses Peekaboo, endorsed by the American Pregnancy Association. Their laboratory operates an all-female testing team, which eliminates the risk of male DNA contamination producing a false boy result — a genuine failure mode in home tests handled by or around men.
Please note
This test determines chromosomal sex only. It does not screen for genetic conditions, chromosomal abnormalities, or any aspect of fetal health, and it is not a substitute for prenatal care.
