Avuncular test

$450

Establishes a biological link through a paternal aunt or uncle when the alleged father cannot be tested.

Avuncular test

What this test determines

Whether a child is biologically related to an alleged paternal aunt or uncle — the brother or sister of the alleged father. Like the grandparentage test, this establishes the relationship indirectly when the father himself cannot be tested.

Who this is for

Families where the alleged father is unavailable and no grandparent can be tested either. A full sibling of the alleged father shares roughly half his DNA, so his brother or sister can stand in.

Common in estate and inheritance disputes, benefit claims, and custody matters where the father is deceased or cannot be located.

What to know before booking

Testing more than one aunt or uncle strengthens the conclusion.

How it works

Collection is a buccal swab. If the result will be used in court or for a benefits claim, book the legal chain of custody — photo identification, photograph at collection, witnessed collection, and tamper-evident sealed transport.

Results are delivered within 2–3 business days of laboratory receipt.

What's included

One alleged aunt or uncle, one child, and the mother, who is strongly recommended. Additional parties carry an extra fee. Call (206) 883-1850 to discuss your case before booking.
